This was also an Panther issue with the pre8rc3 20050726 build. You can restart the video from the playlist and move the index to the crash point and the video plays normally for then on. MPlayer throws an NSInternalIncosistencyException (which is nicely caught but no option of auto submitting a bug report) after 42 to 44 minutes of play. European/ISO 8859-1,2 (Hungarian, English, Czech, etc), Cyrillic and Korean fonts are supported along with 12 subtitle formats (MicroDVD, SubRip, OGM, SubViewer, Sami, VPlayer, RT, SSA, AQTitle, JACOsub, PJS and our own: MPsub). MPlayer has an onscreen display (OSD) for status information, nice big antialiased shaded subtitles and visual feedback for keyboard controls. MPlayer supports displaying through some hardware MPEG decoder boards, such as the Siemens DVB, DXR2 and DXR3/Hollywood+.
